Happiness is something we choose.  Life is filled with ups and downs, twists and turns.  How we respond to life's challenges is a choice.  We can chose to be optimistic or not.  We can chose to be happy or not.  Tom has taken a huge step starting CrossFit and we are happy to see him improve over the course of his CrossFit career.

Olympic style weightlifting expert coach, Mike Burgener often says he would rather start with a flexible and weak athlete than a tight strong one. He says it is easy to make someone strong but limber is harder to achieve. Anyone who has tested out the Mobility wod by Kelly Starrett knows that gaining flexibility is a hard road. Keep working your mobilty because it will make it easier to get strong.

Miranda has spent the last year working towards her goal of competing in the CrossFit games. This weekend she heads to the Southwest Regional to see how she stacks up. Miranda recently moved to Santa Cruz with her husband Tyson who now works with Leif, Dave, Heber, Angel, and Megan M at the CrossFit media headquarters in Scotts Valley. She is a dedicated and hard working athlete who takes what she does very seriously. Equally as valuable is the fact that she has a sense of humor and a playful spirit when it comes to CrossFit. We are looking forward to watching her do her best tomorrow and through the weekend. Enjoy every minute and kick some tail!

Miranda has spent the last year working towards her goal of competing in the CrossFit games. This weekend she heads to the Southwest Regional to see how she stacks up. During the final day of the Norcal Regionals 14 women were slated to compete in two workouts. "Amanda" a workout with muscle-ups and 95 pound squat snatches proved too tough for 8 of the final 14. Only 6 women we able complete the first workout.  Coach D being one of them, she proved to everyone that she is a force to be reckoned with.  Come next year she just might qualify for the big show.  Keep up the good work Coach and way to lead by example.
