Lifting heavy weights can be frightening to the beginner. Confidence grows with experience. Confidence means believing that it can be done with a firm understanding of what it takes to get it done. Experience and confidence turn fear into respect. Veteran lifters always maintain a healthy respect for heavy weights. Slow and gradual loading over time will build confidence and enable future success.
